It has come to my attention that some of our chapters within the district are sponsoring training classes and or events for members without clearing those classes/events through the District Educator. I feel sure that the intentions of these classes/events are well meaning, however I would ask the following question, if something should by accident happen to one of our members during one of these events is he or she covered by the GWRRA Accident Insurance Policy? I suggest that each Chapter Educator or Chapter Director who is considering holding any event where riding of a bike of any description is involved during the event check to insure that the event is approved by district prior to holding said event. If this is not deemed necessary by the Chapter Educator or Chapter Officer I would at least recommend that a Signed Waiver of Injury is signed by all entering the scheduled event. This would cover GWRRA and the chapter officer in the event of any accident occurring during the event. Think Smart Rather that being Sorry Later!
